Session

In brief from the general responsibilities of the Session are as follows:

• Maintain the spiritual government of the congregation; from which purpose they have power to inquire into the knowledge and Christian conduct of the members of the Church... 
• Receive members into the church and authorize the sacrament of baptism.
• Supervise the Church School and all the various societies or agencies of the congregation.
• Appoint delegates to the higher governing bodies of the Church.
• Exercise exclusive authority over the uses to which the church building may be put.
• Keep complete and accurate rolls according to the Constitution and requests from Presbytery.
• Give inspired and dedicated leadership to every aspect of the churches program. The Session should analyze and give visionary leadership and guidance in:  Evangelism (Outreach); Stewardship;             Fellowship; Service; Interest in benevolences and Education

 
It is important that all Committee reports be made in terms of specific recommendations. When the report has been made, it is in order for the Chairman of the Committee to move its adoption.
 
The Sacrament of Holy Communion shall be observed the first Sunday of each month. Other times it is observed (Maundy Thursday, Easter Sunday and Christmas Eve).
 
Public Reception of New Members and the Sacrament of Baptism will take place on dates to be determined by the Session, which shall also determine the procedure for this Reception.
