Brothers & Sisters,
As we find ourselves in a time of uncertainty, we will cling ever tighter to the certainty of our Creator and Redeemer. We've been learning together throughout Lent about what it means to serve God by serving our communities. We met as a Session to prayerfully discern how we can best serve our worship family and our greater community during these rapidly changing times of the Coronavirus. Due to numerous recommendations at all levels and our desire to protect those who are most vulnerable among us, we will be suspending in-person worship effective immediately. We will continue to monitor the situation and will be re-evaluating regularly when we will be able to return to worshiping together under the same roof.
While we can not gather in person, we will continue to worship together online. Jesus said, "For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them" (Matt 18:20). Whether we gather in-person or online, know that Christ is always with us. For this Sunday, March 22, we will be live-streaming worship on our church's Facebook page at our normal worship time of 10:15 am. We invite you, and all who are unable to worship with their congregation, to join us online. While it pains us to do so, our physical church doors will be closed for the time being. Yet our online doors will be open wide as we strive to remain faithful to the calling God has placed on us and our church.
We are encouraging all church work to be done by phone or electronic communication whenever possible. Due to everyone's safety, while staff will have to do some work in the church office, we are asking for you to please call or email instead of physically coming in. We will continue to keep you informed as we navigate this uncharted territory together. We hope you are able to join us this Sunday.
We will be having a test live-stream broadcast on Facebook tonight, Wednesday, March 18, at 6:30 pm. If you have never watched us on Facebook before, this would be a great time to test it out and to help us prepare for this Sunday. Our church's Facebook page can be found here. Make sure to follow us on our Facebook home page so you can more easily find us Sunday morning.
Blessings in Christ,
Pastor Dan Robertson
